WALNUTS ARE HARVESTED WHEN THE PERICARP HAS NATURALLY SPLIT OPEN SO THAT THE SHELL CAN BE EASILY REMOVED.

The entire process of harvesting involves a combination of manual labor and ,
mechanical techniques, including the use of vibrators and mechanical harvesters.
Post-harvest, walnuts undergo mechanical shelling, followed by drying in ovens, driers or under the sunlight at a temperature of 30-32°C.

Full mechanization, covering harvesting, shelling, drying, and sorting, significantly boosts walnut farms' competitiveness, enhancing productivity while cutting production costs.

Annual systematic walnut yields range from 200 to 400 kg per hectare, potentially reaching 700 kg based on factors such as location, age, variety, and grower care.
